Gabija Tonkunas is a Lithuanian-American writer/director whose work melds high-brow philosophy with low-brow meta-irony.
Her recent screenwriting work includes a short film commissioned by the United Nations, which premiered at the COP29 Climate Change Conference. She is currently producing a short film titled Scum, developing an untitled short film slated for 2026, and is the creator of Bliss Bay, a limited machinima series currently in pre-production.
As a writer, her essays and research have been published in Psyche, ASAP/J, and the Journal of Literature and Science.
She holds a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University. She currently resides in Manhattan, New York with her partner, Corey, and her standard poodle, Inky.
